Sydney Uni's Season Launch

12 April 2012

 “Sydney Uni’s Season Launch

Nearly 200 members, guests, sponsors and supporters gathered at The Grandstand on Wednesday evening, 11 April to launch the Sydney University Football Club’s 2012 rugby season.

A highlight of a packed program was a panel discussion about “life after rugby”, featuring eminent Wallabies Dick Tooth, Richard Harry and Phil Waugh. The discussion was chaired by College Principal Wayne Erickson, appropriately enough given that both Phil and Dick are Andrewsmen. The audience was enthralled by the honesty, experience and insight of these outstanding men.

Club President David Mortimer, in thanking the Principal for his contribution to the evening’s event, presented St Andrew’s College with a framed SUFC jersey signed by Phil Waugh, in grateful appreciation of the contributions the College has made, and continues to make to Australia’s oldest and most awarded rugby club. Mr Mortimer highlighted the College’s support of the joint scholarship program and the use of College grounds and facilities as concrete examples of the St Andrew’s partnership.”
